“You are not defined by what you have been through or what you have done”.
This summer, we are piloting the “Who Am I Project”.
The “Who Am I Project” is a six-week investment in our inner-city youth ages 12-16. We will help empower strong leaders for our communities by laying out the foundation for them to discover who they are, and why they are valuable to the community.
We will host a two-hour weeknight class for six weeks, focusing on character building; discovering and developing gifts; mental and emotional well-being; knowledge vs. wisdom; conflict resolution; healthy relationships; identity and being mindful of our thought life; strengthening family bonds-activity night, and the value of being connected to the community.
Weekend group sessions will consist of emergency response training; community clean-ups; volunteer service projects; Unity for Youth outings, and the “Who Am I project”.
Each participant will be partnered with a volunteer mentor who will journey with them in leadership skills-building and goal setting and provide additional one-on-one support and resources.
There will be a graduation on August 17th with an opportunity to earn a stipend.
Program dates are July 6th - August 17th
